First president of the United States, George Washington, decided the location for the White House Tibi in 1791. They started building the White House in 1792. After doing construction for 8 years President Adams moved into the unfinished house in 1800. the British Set Fire to the White House in 1814 during the war and James Hoban was appointed to rebuild the house and then President Monroe moved into the building in 1870. President Theodore Roosevelt took on a major renovation of the White House in 1902. the president's office was relocated from the second floor to the new construction area which was the temporary executive office building known as The West Wing of the White House. the Oval Office was constructed by president William Howard Taft. not too many years after that the structure of the building was starting to show some weakness. a renovation of the building was commence by President Harry S Truman we're basically the whole building except the exterior walls was renovated. in 1952 President Truman move back into the White House. every president since President Adams has stayed in the White House.

The White House is where the president of the United States and his family stays, and there is also a museum of American History inside the White House. The history of our country continues to unfold  via this building. the White House has 35 bathrooms, six levels in the residence, 132 rooms, 147 windows, 8 * cases, 412 doors, 28 fireplaces, and three elevators. President Theodore Roosevelt officially gave the White House its name the White House in 1901 and still to this day this is what we call misspelled it.
